Anger or Happiness: Which is more motivating?

Happiness is Motivating?

happiness motivating

Through the years I’ve been a student and fan of many self-help and entrepreneurial books, gurus, events, etc. I’m sure many of you have been and still are as well. I still am.

And if you’ve learned like I’ve learned we are taught to find our WHY. If we dig deep, deep, deep down within ourselves and figure out what our big why is, then we’ll be able to accomplish what we want to accomplish.

Actually, one of my mentors, Bill Walsh, says “If your why is big enough; you’ll figure out the how.”

So, when we’re talking about our WHY’s….it’s really ultimately all about happiness. Right?

Your why could be creating a successful business so your wife doesn’t have to work anymore and you can enjoy quality time with your family from now until forever. Happiness, right?

Your why could be that you want to ultimately build a financial education school for children so they learn all about money and finances and don’t end up like a lot of folks in the U.S. that are living pay check to pay check. If you achieve that why….happiness again, right?

You get what I’m saying here right? Our why’s are usually very happiness oriented.

Even my why’s. For many, many, many years they’ve been happiness oriented. My big why’s are all about my family. And being able to spend the quality time with the people I want to, when I want, where I want and how I want. Happiness again. My why’s also consist of inspiring and motivating people to realize that they do have a choice in their life and they do NOT have to work at a job they hate for the rest of their lives. It’s about teaching passive income to folks so they work because they want to; not because they have to. Happiness again.

But something weird has been happening very recently for me.

Anger is Motivating?

anger motivating

I’ve found recently that I’ve been being motivated even more by anger. Sounds crazy I know. But the more I think about it, I don’t think it’s that crazy.

Here’s the deal; I have something very personal going on in my life and it’s honestly, not something that I’m going to share with the internet world lol Sorry, for all of the nosey nellies out there! But suffice to say it’s very, very personal and it’s reallllllly making me angry. (And yes, Kathy and I are still awesome as usual. I don’t know why people automatically think that at first lol)

Now here comes the crazy part. I’ve been finding lately that this anger that I have has been really motivating for me. I mean motivating for me in several ways. Motivating in my businesses (ATM business, coaching/teaching business, etc.) And it’s been extremely motivating in trying to combat the situation that’s causing the anger.

Just to be clear I’m not talking about the type of anger where you’re like “Oh I’m going to be super duper successful just to show THEM I can do it.” You know because you had these asses in your life that told you how you weren’t going to amount to anything.

I’m talking about something that is EXTREMELY personal. And means a lot. You know what I mean? I don’t quite know how to put it, but just imagine the most important, emotional, personal thing that you possibly can in your life and that’s what I want you to compare it to. Because when you compare that to telling some ass “I told you so” there’s really just no comparison, is there?

Lately, as you can imagine, I’ve been stumped as to why my anger has gotten me so motivated. Productively motivated I might add lol

Is it because this anger is so motivating? Or is it because even though I have this great anger; in the end when all of my anger motivates me to get certain shit done, and then in the end the “issue” disappears (which it WILL disappear) then happiness comes.

So, is it anger that is motivating or is it the underlying happiness that the anger is trying to get to that is motivating?

What do you think? Do you feel you are more motivated by anger or happiness? Why?

What Any 13 Year Old Can Teach You!

One of Joe’s Christmas presents was tickets to WWE Raw Live in Baltimore, MD. on
January 6th of this year.

Joe and I at WWE Raw

Joe is my 13 yr. old stepson and he lovesssss wrestling. I have to be honest, I really like
going to these wrestling matches too. When I was a kid I was a big fan of the WWF (that’s what they called it back then.) You know with Randy “Macho Man” Savage, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Hulk Hogan, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka and so many others.

So, it’s really fun for me to go to these matches with Joe. Kathy….well she goes but she could care less lol She just likes to make fun of me because I get into it.

Anyway, the whole purpose of this post today is to share with you what any 13 yr. old or any child for that matter can teach you.

At the wrestling match Joe leaned over to me and asked “So, Carey….do you think I should be a WWE wrestler when I grow up or an MLB player?”

And he was dead serious about his question. Joe has informed Kathy and I several times in the past that he wants to be a MLB player, or a WWE wrestler or a MLS player (no idea why, as he doesn’t really play soccer lol)

When he first told me about his plans to be a major league baseball player I told him that was awesome, but asked him what his backup plan was…just in case. He said a WWE wrestler.

Of course, what was I thinking? lol So I said, ok what’s your backup plan after that? A soccer player.

Finally, I said ok what’s a backup plan that has nothing to do with sports? He had no answer for that, because he hadn’t thought about it.

You see Joe doesn’t care how hard it is to get into the MLB or to become a successful wrestler like Jon Cena, Hulk Hogan, etc. Joe hasn’t given that any thought whatsoever. Joe has no idea what it REALLY takes to be a pro ballplayer. How much hard work and how much dedication it takes. Joe has no idea that most kids that want to play in the majors never get to do so.

Joe doesn’t care about all of that stuff right now. Why? Well because he’s still a kid. He’s still a dreamer. He still thinks he can do anything he wants to do in this world. And guess what, he’s right! He can do anything he wants to do in this world…..he just needs the hard work required to catch up with his dreams 😉

All of this brings me to YOU! Are you a dreamer? What is it you want to be when you “grow up?” Do you want to stay stuck in that job that you hate? Do you want to stay at a job where you HOPE you get a 5% raise this year? Do you want to stay in a position where you have to ask permission if you can spend quality time with your family?

Is THAT what you have always wanted for your life? Or was there something else? Obviously, we can’t all be WWE wrestlers or MLB players, especially since some of us are probably in our late 30’s, 40’s or even 50’s and beyond lol

But seriously, what dreams do you have for your life?

Pretend like you are 13 yrs. old again and start dreaming……after you dream for a bit start writing down what you want your life to look like.

Dream Big

Now you must go from a 13 yr. old to an adult…..and what that means is you need to look at those dreams you just wrote down and start doing the hard work that is needed to achieve them.

You can do anything you want to do in this world if you just put in the work…DO NOT LET ANYONE TELL YOU ANYTHING DIFFERENT!

Now below this post, share what you dreamed of being as a kid and what you are now dreaming of becoming as an adult!

By the way, when I was a kid I wanted to be a coroner. Absolutely no idea why! lol

Stop Listening To Your (and others) Bullshit!

Stop Listening To Your (and others) Bullshit!

Pardon my language but this is a pretty personal post about me and
also about you (you just may not know it’s about you yet!)

About 4 years ago I was in the best shape of my life. I’d juice
constantly, I’d exercise daily and I ate very healthy. I hardly
ever got sick, too! It was awesome.

Then in early 2010 I had to get my wisdom teeth out. No biggie, right?
Well, I had an abscess in one tooth and it was sooo infected that my
face swelled up and my mouth closed. I couldn’t eat. Seriously, my
mouth couldn’t open wide enough to eat.

Anyway, there was this major snow storm and my dad had to come get me
to take me to the ER because Kathy wasn’t home……….I ended up having
to get surgery. They had to go through my neck to drain the abscess because
if they tried to open my mouth they would have broke my jaw. If you’d like
to read all about the worst day of my life go here (don’t mind the spelling errors and the curse words!)

Anyway, after the surgery I was finally able to eat. And man after several days
of not being able to eat boy did I eat and eat and eat.

So, basically all of my good habits that I had went down the drain. Now, I would
try to every now and then pick up where I left off prior to the whole wisdom teeth
thing but it was hard. (The bad foods we eat really are addictive!) So, it was
hard and other people would tell me it’s hard to go back after you stopped. I believed
them and I believed myself.

Now, it’s 3 years later. I also have asthma and yeah I’m a bit overweight. Grant it, if
you were to look at me it’s not like you’d say I was obese or even fat. But I am overweight,
there’s no doubt about that. I’m 5’6″ and I weight 177 lbs. If you check out the height/weight/bmi
charts
that equals overweight. I should way a max of 148 lbs.

Oh and because of my asthma for some reason when I get sick it goes right to my chest and
lungs. I was sick for I think like 2 weeks (from August to earlier this month.) And my
cough is still lingering……it takes my cough longer to go away than folks that don’t
have asthma.

By the way, just for the record I want you to know that I have never, ever smoked a
cigarette in my life, never even tried one. I also have never, ever done any type of
illegal drug in my life. Never even tried one and no, not even pot.

So, as you can imagine I get especially pissed off when I can’t breath and people are
like “are you a smoker?” which is a valid question but I get pissed off that I can’t
breath and I sound like someone who has been smoking (and killing themselves) for years!

Oh and my dad told me that high blood pressure runs in our family, because I had high blood
pressure the other day. I said “I’m not going to have high blood pressure, because I eat
better than most people in our family!” (And I do lol but I still have a ways to go.)

Turns out my blood pressure is normal now; it was just high because I was coughing up a
friggin’ lung constantly.

Now why am I confessing all of this to you today? Oh by the way, I do eat better nowadays
but nothing close to where I was before and I still eat crappy shit that I shouldn’t eat.

Anyway, why am I confessing all of this to you? Well, I’ve been having problems breathing
lately. For quite some time actually. That’s why the doc gave me an inhaler for daily use
and a rescue inhaler (can’t find that one tho.)

But Saturday, my stepson Joe, had a baseball game. We had to park a little away from the field.
I’d say it was a block or half of a block to walk (short block.) Well, I took the 2 chairs and
walked to the car while Kathy waited for Joe and half way to the car I couldn’t breath. I was
really having a hard time breathing and gasping for air. (Same thing when I walk up the steps
at the house.)

Anyway, right then and there I promised myself that I wasn’t going to listen to MY BULLSHIT or anyone else’s bullshit about why I can or can’t do something.
And I was finally going to take control of my health again (I’ve been working on the
wealth, but lacking in the health department and I don’t know if you know this or not
but without your health, your wealth is pretty friggin’ useless.)

Kathy got back in the car and I explained to her what was going on. She told me that it’s my
asthma and I have to go back to the doctor again. Which I already made an appointment just
for a checkup. And I said, you know I know it’s my asthma but you know what, it’s me too.

I’m overfuckinweight and that’s my fault. I eat like shit and that’s my fault. I don’t exercise
and that’s my fault. I said and I’m going to be changing all of that.

You see my body is pretty amazing. No I’m not getting conceited here lol what I mean is that
when I eat properly, exercise properly and drink plenty of water my body rewards me. How does
it reward me? My heartburn and every other medical problem I have virtually disappears. I’m not
bullshitting you. It’s amazing. Our bodies (yes, yours too) are amazing! If we treat them
properly they will treat us properly.

Monday of this week I started doing Tae Bo again. I could only do 20 minutes that day. I
was having problems breathing and well I didn’t want to kill myself. Just so you know I’m
not being reckless, I realize that I have issues that I need to pay attention too, so I’m
gradually doing what I need to do. Monday 20 minutes of Tae Bo and 50 sit ups.

Tuesday I made it to 30 minutes of Tae Bo and 60 sit ups.

Today, I’m proud to say that I completed the entire Tae Bo workout without a problem and
I did 70 sit ups.

I’ve been eating pretty awesomely this week and I intend to keep it up. You see, I have
a target date. It’s January 14, 2014. What’s so special about that date?

Well I haven’t had a physical in quite some time and that is my physical date with the
best doctor in the world, my family doctor, Dr. Harvey Lisgar.

I want to be in top notch shape then so he’s like WTF happened to you? lol

As someone who is constantly speaking on stages about passive income and wealth, it’s pretty
important that I am healthy and can breath. Because well, I can get into my speaking and
exert a lot of energy and it’s good to be able to breath properly and not lose your breath
all of the time.

Soooooo, I’m excited for my journey back to top notch health and I welcome you to follow
along but more importantly I’m asking you, no begging you to STOP LISTENING TO YOUR OWN BULLSHIT
and STOP LISTENING TO OTHER PEOPLES’ BULLSHIT!

Take control of your life right now. Don’t let yourself or others stop you. Whether it’s in
the health department or wealth department or any other department STOP LISTENING TO THE BULLSHIT
and start doing what you KNOW you have to do. (Because the reality is we all know what we have
to do, we just don’t do it. Right? We know if we are broke that we have to figure out how to
bring more money in whether it’s starting our own business or getting a new job. We know that
if we’re overweight and can’t breath that we have to start eating better and exercise.)

Take care of YOU! Don’t let your mind or others words stop you. I’m taking care of me because
I have a family that I love to death and want to be here for, for a longggg time.

I want to be around for my family, especially my beautiful and awesome wife Kathy and my kitty
cats. And my mom, stepdad, dad, stepdad, stepkids, nephew (by best friendship) etc. etc.

You get the picture. So stop, think about your life and who is important in it and then make
a plan for better wealth or health or whatever it is that you need to ensure that you’ll always
be around for those people in your life.

Remember, STOP LISTENING TO ALL OF THE BULLSHIT that says you can’t or it’s too hard or are you crazy? Etc. Etc.

Tell me below what BULLSHIT are you now going to stop listening to?

How To Become Unemployed And Start Living Life…YOUR Life

Ever thought about “firing” your boss? or hoping you, yourself, got fired? Thought about
starting your own business so you don’t need to rely on the “security” of a J-O-B?

Notice, I put security in quotes. Most folks don’t realize that when you are working
for someone else, you never, ever, ever have security. You are replaceable. Always.
Please don’t ever forget that.

Anywho, most of you have been on my journey with me since investing in real estate
back in 1999 starting with mobile home deals. Fun times.

You’ve been around when I was a full-time real estate agent, a full-time real estate
investor and many things in between.

Truth be told….I sucked at managing ME. So I usually ended up at a J-O-B. Stupid,
I know. I think laziness had a lot to do with it too though…….

Anyway, when I met Kathy (my current wifey-poo,) well things really started to change
for me. She was the first partner that I ever had in my life that REALLY believed in me,
believed in my knowledge and believed that I could take US to a whole new level in
this game of life. (Now my mom has always believed in me, but well she’s not the kind
of partner I’m talking about lol That’s different, she’s my mommy.)

Kathy has always been supportive of my dreams. Problem was, Kathy and I were in a lot
of debt after we bought our house together. Especially sucked for me because I had
gotten myself out of a boatload of debt and now I was back in it.

Well, I had to do what I knew to make money quick to help us. Real estate. So, I
wholesaled deals, etc. But….wholesaling really wasn’t my passion. Sure it was easy
and it was quick money, but I really didn’t enjoy it all that much.

While I was figuring my “sh*t” out, I started working again…..ughhhhh yes a J-O-B.

Meanwhile, Kathy and I decide to look towards apartment buildings for real estate
and we decide to start an ATM business for passive income (that was in 2009.)

While we’ve been crushing it in the ATM business, we still had huge debt to crush.
So, I’ve been working for car dealerships. BMW in their internet department. Then I
went to a Dodge, Jeep and Chevy dealer to work in their finance department.

While I liked my most recent boss A LOT as a person. I really didn’t like my J-O-B.
I’m an entrepreneur!!! I will never like a j-o-b. My boss knew the type of person I
was and knew the businesses we had. She was so awesome, and would always give
me tips, ideas, etc. about the businesses. She knew I wasn’t going to be at the job
forever, that’s for sure.

The thing that was even more frustrating to me was the fact that our ATM business
more than covered my salary at both of those J-O-Bs at the dealerships. Grrrrrrrr.

D@mn debt! I tell ya. Anyway, my wonderful wife had an awesome idea of me going
part-time to concentrate on our businesses. It’s hard to be successful in your businesses
when you are working a gabillion hours a week and then coming home to a family. It’s
do-able…but really hard.

So, my boss was on board. Woohooo! Man, I started kicking tail when I went part-time.
Not even kidding. I was crushing it and taking names. Working on our ATM biz, making
offers on apartment buildings and improving my ATM Business Blueprint course so
other folks can start making passive income from ATM machines.

It was great! Then a month later my boss says to me (and I’m going to paraphrase:)
“Well, we kinda need you to come back full-time again. I know it’s not good timing.
I wish you were just ready to leave here on your own, but we’re getting more and more
busy, etc. etc.”

I was annoyed. I mean it’s only been a month or so. But oh well, that’s cool. She said
she would give me and Kathy the weekend to talk about it.

The bad thing was Joe was getting ready to end school and that’s a huge reason Kathy
wanted me to be part-time. To be home for him. Soooo, she wasn’t happy about the
whole full-time thing.

We told them that I would go back full-time in September if they needed me to. They
said they needed someone sooner. I was like ok, no problem, I understand but I can’t
do that because of Joe. Our plan was for me to be home for Joe this summer.

My boss understood and June 8, 2012 was my official last day an an employee of
someone else. Man did it feel awesome.

Truth is, we have income coming in from our ATM business, from my ATM Business
Blueprint Course and from my very last rental property. Grant it, the debt crushing
machine may be a little slowed down, but having other income streams definitely
helps.

My problem now? I put wayyyy too much pressure on myself to making a bajillion
dollars in a year to get Kathy out of her job. Sure, our ultimate goal has been to
get us both out of our jobs, but I’m putting more pressure then normal on myself
now to do that. She’s not. I am.

But I have been kicking butt. Just went to Brendon Burchards High Performance
Academy in Cali last month, just did a teleseminar for T Harv Ekers “Wealthy
Now” members last month, going to Brendon Burchards Worlds Greatest Speaker
Training in August and I’m just really excited about the future folks!

I’m happy to start living MY life…the life I want with my wife and my family.

You can decide to start living life too…..your life. Just start with 1 extra passive
income stream (or heck it doesn’t even have to be passive, but it helps for it
to be if you already have a full-time job.) Then keep adding another passive income
stream after you get cranking with the first one.

You can do it. For you. For your family. For your future.

Thank you for reading my rambling post today, I know it’s been a while, but as
you can read….I’ve had a lot on my mind and a lot going on. You guys and gals
are all awesome.

I definitely want to say a big hugeeeee, awesome thanks to Kathy. For being there
for me and believing in me. Pretty soon babydoll, you’re going to be sipping pina
coladas on the beach while I’m next to you with my laptop making us more money! 😉

New host! All sites moved! Yippee!

I’ve been a lil quiet on this blog and my ATM Business blog. But I’ve had good reason. Right before my wedding….turns out my sites got hacked!

Yessss! Fun, Fun, Fun! Seriously, don’t people have better things to do? (Guess not?) Anywho, I had to get that taken care of first.

Then after they were all cleaned up I had to make a decision. Do I want that to happen again or not? lol Obviously, I opted for not.

So, I’ve been working with the guy who helped me get rid of the mess the hackers created and we fixed up all of my websites (about 5 or 6) and then we slowly moved each one over to a new hosting company. I feel much better this way. It’s a bit more expensive a month but they scan your sites every day for hackers. (I’m sure they can’t spot ’em all, I guess? But it’s better then what I did have going on. Nothing!)

I can promise now that you’ll be seeing and hearing more from me again. Woohoo! I know some of you are happy and some of you are thinking Oh noooooooooooo! 🙂

I just got done my self-defense class so I’m off to get a shower. We will talk again soon. Btw, a little bit of exciting news.

I will be presenting the ATM Business Blueprint at an REIA meeting in December. I’m super excited about that. (Thank you to Russ Lebrasc from Business Credit for Real Estate who referred me to the gentleman who leads that REIA.)

Talk soon everyone!

Wedding complete and a funny video for you

Many of you know I was off getting married this past weekend (9/10/2011) and the wedding planning has been why I have been out of the loop lately.

But now the wedding is complete, I’m officially married (well it was in Cape May, NJ, so it’s technically a “civil union” but ya’ll know what the deal is) and I can get ready to rock and roll again.

I have a lot of good stuff in store for you coming up and I have a lot of cool and exciting announcements coming up for me and my business too.

In the meantime, I thought I’d leave you with a funny video. This is the father/daughter dance that me and my dad did at the reception after the wedding ceremony. Yes, we are in shorts…..it was a very beach, casual wedding.

Oh and you may want to fast forward to :50 into the video. I promise it’s worth the watch (don’t laugh TOO much tho, ok? 😉 )

Enjoy the video. Here is Kathy and I on the big day:

10 (25ish) Things You Didn’t Know About Me

You know my fellow blogger, Scotty, over at Struggling Investor did this post before that mentioned some things about him that he didn’t think we’d know.

I really liked it when he did that and I tried to find it again on his blog but I couldn’t. I remember reading his blog that day and thought to myself “I want to do one of these posts.”

Soooooooo, although it’s plenty of posts later…here it is. My “10 25 Things You Didn’t Know About Me” post (or I should say probably didn’t know about me.)

1. My favorite type of music is R&B and Hip-Hop (favorite band is 112.) carey bucks favorite group

2. Even though my favorite type of music is R&B and Hip-Hop; I have a very eclectic taste in music. I like all kinds. In my collection you will find Beethoven, Bach, Ozzy Osbourne, Frank Sinatra, King Diamond, Madonna, Tiffany, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Bonnie Tyler, R. Kelly (I know Shae, I know lol) and much, much more.

3. I don’t admit it to many people but I loveeeee Tiffany (remember the shopping mall singer from the 80’s. “I think we’re alone now!”) When I need to paint or do any type of housework, man I jam to some Tiffany 🙂 (I hope ya’ll still respect me after this post! lol)

4. I have a counting/math/number OCD. I count everything. Tiles on the floor, ceiling panels, designs in a door, checkers on a shirt, etc. It’s always a treat at nite when it’s bedtime. I look at the digital clock and you know how it will say let’s say: 11:32, well I’ll count the lines in the 11:32 number and then whatever number I come up with let’s say in this case it’s 14, then I’ll try to do some type of math problem with the numbers in 11:32 to get the number 14. So, I’d say in my head ok “11 + 3 = 14.” Well Kathy sees me every night look at the clock and do my lil calculations in my head and every night I hear “stop looking at the dam clock! and she turns the clock away!” *shrug* she just doesn’t understand.

5. I absolutely love to play No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em poker tournaments (I get to use my counting/math/number OCD. Perfect combo!) And I’m pretty decent to boot.

6. I’ve made a TV final table for a women’s poker tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada.

7. I use to work at QVC and I worked backstage with the guests, models, hosts, etc. And a lot of times I would get “air-time” to do things. That was my favorite part of the job because I can be such a ham!

8. I use to work at a radio station (WNWR-AM 1540) where I did an early morning Gospel Radio Program on Sundays.

9. I have a huge heart for animals, children, the elderly and minorities (especially as you would have expected GLBT folks.) I will always stick up for people who can’t stick up for themselves or for people that aren’t being treated fairly.

10. I’m getting married to my partner of over 5 years on September 10th, 2011 in Cape May, NJ on the beach. I’m 37 and have never been married before. I’m excited, but honestly, we’ve been living as a married couple for so long now that well I think it’s just a formality but one that means a whole heck of a lot. Something about exchanging vows and wedding bands…….I think that says (and means) a whole heck of a lot! (Plus, she’s a saint for putting up with me!)
carey and kathy

11. Here’s a bonus one (or 2): I can teach you how to cash in on the ATM business by owning your own ATM machines and I can potentially teach you a little bit about real estate investing if you hang around here 😉

—————————————————————————————————————–

Ok so I feel like I robbed ya because I found Scotty’s original post and he told you 25 things about him! And I only did 10, well 11. So here is another 14 lol

12. I have a tattoo of a cat on my left calf. It is of my cat Buddy, who I had to have put to sleep when he was only 5 (he had a lot of internal problems.) So that tattoo was my memorial to him because he was so young. It does it’s job too. People always ask about it. (Love you buddy….miss you kid!)

13. And if you haven’t guessed yet, my cats are my kids. I have 3 cats and in my heart they are my kids. Kathy, my partner has 2, 2 legged kids lol (plus she has 1 cat.)

14. I try to juice in the morning most of the time. My signature juice is: 4 carrots, 2 apples and a handful of parsley. Yum!

15. I make a mean black bean and quinoa salad. DEEEE-lish.

16. I don’t know how to swim 🙂 I mean I probably could manage if you just tossed me in the water, but I am not comfortable at all with swimming. Don’t ever ask me to save you, cuz we’d BOTH be in trouble.

17. I proposed to Kathy in Atlantic City, NJ at the Borgata Hotel and Casino and I had the help of the Borgata in pulling off my proposal. (Big shout out to Ray Steffanelli, Director of Poker Marketing and Jeff Shurilla, Borgata Blogger! These 2 guys, especially Jeff, helped me pull my proposal off without a hitch.) *Note- Kathy and I actually met at a poker tournament in Atlantic City, hence the A.C. proposal!

18. I don’t like raisins all that much, hate them in carrot cake, but I love them in my cereal (I’m eating Raisin Bran right now.)

19. People tend to say that I’m a very loyal person. And I tend to agree with them.

20. I have a license to carry and I have a 9mm gun and believe it or not, I’m actually a pretty good shot (a robber is in trouble if they step into my house!)

21. I’m fiscally conservative and socially liberal.

22. When I was a little kid I wanted to grow up to be a little black boy (true story, my mom tells it to folks to this day!) Of course, I don’t remember it, but hey, I’m trying to tell you some things you didn’t know about me and I’m quite sure my mom is telling the truth lol

23. My mom is my hero. She’s the 1 person in this world that I love, respect and cherish more than anything (we’re talking about NON-spouses here folks lol) She’s helped make me the person I am today. She’s always believed in me and showed me love more than anyone else on this planet. And as an adult, I learned all of the things my mom had to sacrifice and struggle with to not only raise me as a wonderful, productive member of society, but really to make sure she stayed a sane, supportive and loving mom (which I don’t think any of that was in question. You know the term unconditional love? Look it up, there’s probably a pic of me and mom there lol)

Anyway, I admire my mom greatly and a lot of what I am striving to do is so that I can take care of my mom so she doesn’t have to work anymore and she can enjoy life a heck of a lot more. I love you mom. Thank you for everything you’ve done (and continue to do.)

24. When I was growing up in Philly; I was an all-star softball player and basketball player. I think it’s because off of fields and out of the uniforms I only played with boys. I played baseball with boys, played basketball with boys…..when I was little my best friend was a boy and I usually got along better with boys then girls lol

25. I’m a procrastinator. That’s a constant work in progress. I’m getting better. Writing things down helps immensely!

Bonus: 26. This is something that people always find unbelievable when I tell them (and I have no idea why.) But I have never smoked a cigarette in my life. Never. Didn’t even try it. Not even a puff. Not only that but I have never in my life ever did drugs. Not even pot. People always say that people like me are very rare. As far as alcohol goes…..I’m not much of a drinker. Maybe will have a couple drinks every 6 months or so. My per session limit is 2 tho lol L-I-G-H-T W-E-I-G-H-T

Ok…that’s about it for the 10 25 things you (probably) didn’t know about me. Soooo….what are some things that I probably don’t know about you?

A New Look for Thanksgiving!

happy thanksgiving

First and foremost I want to say Gobble, Gobble! Btw, that’s Happy Thanksgiving in turkey language. (Bet ya’ll didn’t know that did you?) I hope you all have a wonderful, safe and happy Thanksgiving with family, friends or if you choose to just by yourself!

Ok, so as you can probably tell I have a different outfit on today (not really clothes silly…..I mean I changed the look of the blog!)

Please bare with me while I try to figure everything out. I’m not the most tech savvy person but I usually can get by (just slowly!)

I’ve been working hard on the ATM Passive Income course and actually, our ATM business itself is really, really kicking butt…so it’s keeping me on my toes. (Remember, if you didn’t sign up for your free report: “Top 5 Ways to Buy ATMs with No Money” you can do so by filling out the form below!)

That reminds me……I’ll be announcing a contest soon and what will I be giving away? Welllll, if you happen to be the lucky winner you will be winning my Complete ATM Passive Income Course! How about them apples?

Ok I just wanted to check in folks to let you know why my blog may look a lil weird…..I’m going to get back to tinkering with it.

I did it finally! Self-Directed IRA

I did it finally! I rolled over my IRA to a Self-Directed IRA with Equity Trust. My accountants only been telling me to rollover to a ROTH for a billion years now. Now I just transferred to Equity Trust but after this goes through then I will rollover to a ROTH. (If you roll over a traditional IRA to a Roth IRA before the end of this year you get to break it up into 2 years worth of paying the taxes on it.)

Thank you to Matt from Equity Trust for being on my behind and finally getting me today on my lunch break so I could do all of the paperwork.

If you have an IRA or 401K and haven’t looked into putting your money into a self-directed IRA perhaps you should take a moment to look over Equity Trusts website and you can call my guy Matt Tillac if you’d like to ask him questions.

Benefits of you rolling over your money to a self-directed IRA? Well you have total control over your investments and what I mean by that is that if you want to purchase a piece of real estate with your IRA, you can.

If you want to buy ATMs with your IRA, you can.

If you want to lend someone else money from your IRA so they can buy real estate and you can be the bank, you can.

If you want to lend someone else money from your IRA so they can buy ATMs and you can be the bank, you can.

If you want to lend someone else money from your IRA so they can (fill in the blank with ACCEPTABLE investments) and you can be the bank or enter into some kind of partnership with them, you can.

I know someone personally who is using their Self-Directed IRA to lend people money for their real estate deals. Also, if you’ve read my blog before you know that the person who lent us money for our last 2 ATMs used their Self-Directed IRA to do so.

So if you’ve thought about it or if you’ve never even heard about it…do yourself a favor and investigate the option today. You don’t have to do it, but you’d be doing yourself a dis-service if you didn’t at least educate yourself about the option that’s available to you.

Btw, the link I supplied above from Equity Trust is NOT an affiliate link. I do not get paid any fee or commission if you do business with them 🙂

Oh and if you have thought about getting started in the ATM business or growing your current ATM business and you don’t have cash on hand but you do have an IRA or 401k….this is definitely something you should research.
